Applying the moves in the written communication is very important to my pre-intermediate level students. Since they are not totally familiar with the structure/move of bussiness correspondence, it's better to pre-teach them all the elements of it. They can have a chart like what we have in the works...

I would like to know more about how teachers can apply the Cost and Benefit Theory in teaching business writing classes. Text books do not usually provide examples on how "the more person A request benefits person B, the more polite person A seems". It might be a challenge to support this ...

Q2: Teachers need to recognize knowledge in at least 2 aspects. In the first aspect, it's about recognizing conversation strategies and phrases. In the second aspect, it's about recognizing the content/context/cultural background of the conversation.
